Day 1:

  • For day one I set the goals I would like to achieve in the near future.

When doing my research I found a study that said a motivated person that has there goals set are the best leaders.

Day 2:

  • I helped my friend Kelby with his math homework that he was having trouble with.

Day 3:

  • I went into work with a positive attitude and got things done.

  • By coming into work with a positive attitude it spread to my fellow co-workers and we're all able to have a good successful day at work.

Day 4:

  • I helped my friend Christian understand what was going on in our math class. he was having trouble understanding what was going on so I cleared everything up for him.

Day 5:

  • My friend Viktor has been struggling to get stronger. At first he was barely able to squat 135 pounds today. We had hyping him up because he said he was going to max on squat he ended being able to 225 pounds with is nearly double what he started at .

  1. From this project I was able to learn that keeping a positive attitude is key in order to be successful.

  2. By doing some of these tasks I was able to help my friends gain knowledge which could benefit the community and make it a better place.

  3. I was able to set my goals which led me to stay motivated. This spread to my peers and allowed them to keep a positive attitude which led to some of them like my friend Viktor achieving his goals.

  4. This project pushed me to help my friends around me which led me to tutoring which helped me connect to my social responsibly and community engagement.

Observation

So far in my observation I'm on day two. For day one I wrote down the goals that I would like to achieve by the end of the semester. On day two I helped my friend Kelby with his business math homework that he was having a little bit of trouble with.

Project Proposal

Research

From my research I have learned a lot about how I may improve my learning skills and how I can implement this skill in the future. In the article by Bergner S., Kanape A., and Rynicek R. they talk about a study where they test whether or not motivation plays a factor in leadership success. In the study, they tested two types of people, people that lacked the motivation to do their job and a person that was the complete opposite. The outcome of this study was that the people with greater motivation showed a greater outcome in their leadership success.

In the second article I was taught how to implement leadership skills into a management position. Lewis, B. J. talks about ways that you can me a better leader in a management position. One of the points that he made that I really liked was basically saying to stay humble. This because a lot of people like to turn into snobs once they acquire a position with power. He also mentions other ways like keeping your employees motivated. Basically in order to be successful in this position it all depends on your management style and hwo you treat your peers.

Proposal

Day 1: I will write down my goals and put it in a place where I will see it every day so I can stay motivated from here on out

Day 2: I will help my friend Kelby with his business math homework that he is having trouble with

Day 3: I will have a positive attitude at work and will do best to help my fellow co-workers when I am free

Day 4: I will help Christian understand what is going on in our math class

Day 5: To start off I could start by encouraging my friends when we are working out by cheering them on and pushing them beyond their limits.

Conclusion

In doing these tasks for those five days I hope to improve my leadership skills and learn more about how it feels to be a leader. I only go to school for two out of the week so I will practice my leadership skills the two days I am there and practice it my other three days throughout my everyday life. I choose this skill because I would like to own my real estate business in the future and I would like to be a great leader and boss for my future employees.
