Downtown Corpus

For this islander activity me and my friend went to ocean drive. He has really been wanting to take some pictures to post on his Instagram because his feed needed some help. We have seen people posting pictures there so we went to try it out. The pictures ended up turning out really good.

By doing this activity I was able to notice just how beautiful some areas of downtown corpus are. It opened up a place where I can go if I want to some good pictures if I’m in the mood to post. It also got me a little more active on social media for once since I post once every blue moon. I was also able to gain a place where I can go if I just want to be to myself and go on a walk with nice scenery, hangout with friends or even take someone on a date when the opportunity comes up. This is actually really big because I’ve always thought that corpus is boring and that there is nothing here, and there is especially nothing to do here. Although now I can’t think that because I found a fun activity to do when I’m bored.

The Convert

For this next islander activity, I went to a play that the island was hosting. The play was called the covert. It was a very interesting play for sure. It was a play about a group of ladies that go on some sort of church retreat in hopes of finding themselves and happiness.

This play was definitely one to remember. It has given me an experience I will never forget. The play brought me laughter and a fun time. From this play I was able to see all the stuff in person; that my theatre e-book has been going over. It was my first time every going to an actually play, not one of my sisters plays from elementary school where the teachers were trying to get most of the kids stop crying and to the sing. By going to this play I was able to find out that not all theatre is boring. Some of it is actually quite amusing and fun to watch. I was also able to find out that one of my friends from high school is also taking theatre. So, it gave me access to a study buddy for theatre just in case if I ever need one.

Islander musical concert

For this islander activity I went to a concert that the islander music program was hosting. My friend Kelby needed to go for an assignment that he had to do for his music appreciation class. The music concert was performed by a student playing the piano. The performance that the lady put on was very beautiful.

From this islander activity project, I was able to gain some knowledge from the musical concert. I was able to find out where the music concert are performed. Just in case if I wanted to go to another performance in the future. I was also able to experience how beautiful the piano really sounds in person. This concert made me give a lot more respect to musicians like these. It made me think about how much time and preparation must go into these performances. The lady was performing a song for almost thirty minutes!!!I was also able to experience this with two of my friends that I hadn’t hung out with in while.
